Yes, I know. I rarely post on my website and a number of revisions have left it empty. Like right now. I plan to change that starting now. My free time has increased at least for the immediate future and so I will have time to get the shambles that is this website turned into the tool that I wanted it to be originally - a repository for interesting information and stories I want to remember. Fine. Don’t believe me.

A little history about me before I go on about other things - I grew up very close to the downtown core of Toronto in a suburb called Malton. 7 years ago I moved to a tiny town of roughly 8000 people called Dryden. The closest city is approximately 350-400km away. To the people who live in Dryden, even my small Toronto suburb is a big city. Malton is a part of Mississauga which has a population exceeding 350,000. I don’t dislike small towns, but the place I grew up in and my family is way down in Toronto and I am up here in Dryden. The distance between is about 2000km. It’s time for me to spend some time with them and that is where this story begins. Having recently sold the business I bought with my girlfriend, Guinevere, we find ourselves on a blank slate with the opportunity to do something new. Unfortunately, the list of well-paying jobs in Dryden is small and we are unlikely to fill one of them as I am sure there are many others striving for the same positions - not that I know of any openings. So, it’s off to Southern Ontario with us to get a fresh start. We don’t know where this new path will take us, but it’s a risk we are both willing to take and I can only imagine that we will get all the things we want. And when we win the lottery, it will be even better! (Read: When pigs fly) One of my first pre-move challenges will be: getting smilies to work on this website.

Yay! I am glad your web site is back up and running (yet again). Very good first post. I am looking forward to the move, even though I will miss my family lots! *sniff*

Looks like we’re not the only ones moving into concrete jungles:
